What we wax for men
We cover all the usual areas: full back and shoulders, full chest and stomach, full, three-quarter and half arms, underarms, full and half legs, plus nape, ears, nostrils and the bits in between. Many clients book a back-and-shoulders or back-chest-and-stomach combination, and our grooming packages bundle the most popular areas together so a full tidy-up is sorted in one appointment at a better price.
Why waxing works better than shaving or trimming
Shaving the back is awkward at best and impossible to reach at worst, and trimming only ever gives you stubble. Waxing removes the hair from the root for a properly smooth finish that lasts weeks, not days. The regrowth that does come back is softer and finer than the sharp stubble shaving leaves, and you avoid the itch and razor rash that come with a blade.
How long it lasts and how often to come in
Expect around three to four weeks of smoothness before regrowth becomes obvious. Like all waxing, a regular cycle pays off: the more consistently you come in, the finer the regrowth becomes and the quicker each session gets. Lots of our regulars lock in a four-to-six-weekly visit, especially heading into summer or before a holiday.
Comfortable, discreet appointments
There is nothing to feel awkward about — male grooming is a routine part of what we do, and our therapists are quick, professional and easy to talk to. We use strong, quality wax suited to coarser body hair and work in sections to keep things comfortable. First-timers are always surprised how fast a full back actually goes.
Before and after your wax
Let the hair grow to a few millimetres rather than trimming right before, exfoliate lightly a day or two ahead to free any ingrowns, and skip heavy moisturiser on the day. Afterwards, avoid hot showers, the gym, swimming and saunas for 24 hours, wear something loose over freshly waxed skin, and exfoliate gently a few days later to keep ingrown hairs away.
Frequently asked questions
How long does mens waxing last?
Mens waxing keeps skin smooth for around three to four weeks, as the hair is removed from the root. With regular appointments the regrowth comes back softer and finer, and each session becomes quicker and more comfortable over time.
Is back and chest waxing painful for men?
There is a brief sting as the wax is removed, but our therapists work fast and in sections to keep it manageable, and most men find it far easier than expected. Coarser hair becomes finer with regular waxing, so discomfort reduces over time.
How long does my hair need to be for a back or chest wax?
Hair should be a few millimetres long so the wax can grip it properly, so avoid trimming or shaving for a couple of weeks beforehand. If the hair is too short, the wax cannot remove it cleanly and the result will not last as long.
Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but for longer treatments like a full back, chest and stomach we recommend booking so we can set aside the time. You can book online or call your nearest Brisbane salon directly.
